Introduction to Cooking

Cooking in World of Warcraft is a great skill to learn and it does mesh well with several other professions, such as a fishing. You can actually earn a reasonable amount of gold with your cooking skill and you don’t have to put in a lot of effort, making it fun for players to give it a try.

Originally most players didn’t give it a second glance but with Burning crusade and WotLK its a profession that has taken on new possibilities. You can actually make some things that other players really need, so this is a good way to get extra gold. Click here to read more on World of Warcraft Cooking Guide

How to Begin

When you have started you will need a fire which needs some flints, tinder and wood. Open up your Spell book and look inside the cook book to find which recipes you would like to try. Please keep in mind that your fire will only last for a few minutes only start a fire when you are actually ready to start cooking.

Once you have completed your apprenticeship, you may need to spend a little to make a little at first. However, once you advance and go through more quests, you’ll have easy access to the items that you need for your recipes. Making Gold by Cooking
Although cooking appears a generally useless skill, it’s what you cook that makes a difference. Focus on the ingredients that carry buff points as once you have mastered the skill you can start making these items and then selling them in the auction house . Warp burgers are good sellers at about 1 gold a peice. It’s very easy to make 50 gold pieces an hour using this tip.

It’s a good idea to monitor the seasons in the game. During Christmas, there are quests that will require players to have Egg Nog at least one gold piece each and if players are desperate, you can easily make more money. Click here to read more on Cooking Leveling Guide

Moving Up the Levels

If you want a quick tip to level from 1 to 375 read on…. Star off in Ironforge. Buy the ingredients for making spiced bread. This will get you to 40. Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to get 30 mild spices as well as some more wood. Then get to Auberdine and find a Moonkin. Kill until you have a couple of dozen eggs to get you to level 60.

Then head south to Ashenvale and collect clams dropped by crawlers. Pick up as many as you can and then head back to Ironforge. Cook up the eggs and sell them. Then cook the clams with the help of a cooking trainer. By now, your skill level will be up to 130. Get the expert cookbook and you will be well on your way to getting up to 375.

The New Daily Quests

The new daily cooking quests are a recent introduction to the game. But you’ll need to have a cooking skill of at least 275 to take part in most of them. The good bit though is that the payback is high. To learn more click here: WoW Cooking Guide
